Cracker

a person who gains unauthorized entry into a computer or computer sys-tem through the Internet and copies commercial software, sometimes simply to see if it can be done and sometimes for financial gain. In certain circles, a cracker would be considered less proficient than a hacker, though the terms are often interchangeable. see hacker.
