CD

(Compact Disc) a plastic disc with a metal finish, developed in the 1980s, capable of storing digitized music. A CD stores data on a continuous groove, much like a phonograph record. One CD can store up to 74 minutes of music. see CD-I, CD-ROM, CD-RW.
